Our Story
Since we met in 2014 we’ve been involved with farms and providing fresh food for our neighbors. In 2019 we drove to Vermont to spend the summer at a farm and bakery called Earth Sky Time. Daniel made sourdough bread and Abbey made the croissants. We continued to nurture our love of wood-fired bread while living by the Russian River and beautiful oak savanna of Sonoma County. There we had the opportunity, with some fellow bakers, to bake in the wood-fired oven at Nightingale Breads for the Forestville Farmers Market and local farm CSA programs and thus, Freehand Bakery was born!
We moved to Milwaukie Oregon in July of 2024 and now bake from our home. We mill our own flour in house and proudly feature it in all of our products. We seek to build a resilient community by connecting with our neighbors and farmers over nourishing whole grain breads.
